Colton Underwood Calls Out The Bachelor Franchise in Tell-All Interview


In an interview with Bachelor Nation expert Reality Steve, Colton Underwood accused producers of taking "advantage" of Cassie Randolph and said his mental health suffered during his time on the show.

In a newly released podcast interview with Bachelor Nation expert Reality Steve, the 28-year-old former football pro detailed his "falling out" with the reality TV franchise, going as far to say producers took "advantage" of and "abused" ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph during her July appearance on a Greatest Seasons Ever special episode. But before revealing exactly why he's "not in a good place" with the franchise, Colton revealed just how greatly his mental health suffered as a result of the show.

Recalling a Feb. 2019 incident in which a female fan allegedly groped him at a charity event, Colton shared, "I just remember feeling so powerless and like such a piece of meat. That for me was a big turning point in my mental health, of like, 'Wow, I have no clue what I'm in for right now.' And it got pretty bad. It got dark."

Things only got worse for Colton when he wrapped production on his season of The Bachelor and came face-to-face with the "magnitude" of his sudden stardom. During a trip to Las Vegas with Jason Tartick and Blake Horstmann, Colton said he attended a concert where fans were fawning over him.

From that point on, Colton said he started experiencing social anxiety while out in public. "I had so much anxiety and so much depression that I was like, throughout the majority of my season [airing], I was pretty heavily medicated. I'm not gonna lie. I was taking medication for anxiety and for depression during the whole entire season," he shared.

In the years since Colton's journey to find love aired on national television, he said he's made an effort to distance himself from The Bachelor. "There's just been too many things that I've found out about, and that has happened, for me to feel comfortable working with them again on a professional level, not even personal," he explained.

One such instance, Colton shared, is the way host Chris Harrison treated Cassie when she agreed to sit down for a virtual interview. Her comments about their May breakup would start a social media feud between the exes, but Colton insisted he was only taking aim at those behind the camera.

"Cass stayed extremely professional and extremely quiet about our breakup, which I was so happy and thankful for," he remarked. "I even texted her. I said, man, I appreciate that. Like, thank you. What bugged me was the fact that the show took advantage of her."
"I get very defensive over people I love, and I know Cass is a big girl and she could fight her own battles," he continued. "But I just know her heart and she doesn't want to rock the boat. And she loves people even if they abuse her, or even if they take advantage of her, which is what they did."

He then called out Harrison directly, saying, "And then you have Chris Harrison pointing questions saying, 'I sense you don't want to make Colton mad or you're afraid you're going to upset Colton. It's like, 'No, Chris. I literally talked to her the morning of that interview. We're good.' Stop worrying about me or painting me to be this controlling or angry person. I'm not angry. If there's anybody I'm upset about or upset with it's you guys. You're going to have my ex on the show over your lead, which I completely get. We're not in a good place, you know?"

Colton and Cassie have yet to share insight into the reasons for their breakup, but the celeb did confirm that it had nothing to do with rumors of infidelity or his sexuality.

"In regards to those rumors," Colton clarified, "I addressed it pretty heavily in the book and I've gone through it throughout my whole entire life." And of course it doesn't help being on a national stage for the mental health aspect. But the bottom line is I'm not gay. I have love and support for anybody in the LGBTQ community and support that, and love is love at the end of the day."

He concluded, "I'm sort of used to it at this point, but I don't think I'm ever going to give a good enough answer. I'm always going to almost feel like I'm on defense probably for a very long time."

On Reality Steve’s podcast Colton confirmed that a producer had lunch with Cassie’s father right before their hometown date and told him that Colton would not be selecting his daughter and to protect her. Absolutely WILD producer intervention.

Colton Underwood ‘Struggling’ To AcceptThat Cassie Randolph Has Moved On &Desperately Wants Her Back

Colton Underwood’s friends have found his behavior ‘odd and out of character,’ a source EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife after Cassie Randolph filed for a restraining order.
Colton Underwood, 28, “is shook with everything that has happened with the breakup” after splitting from Cassie Randolph, 25, midway into April of 2020, a source close to the Bachelor star EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife. Despite seemingly ending their one-year relationship on good terms, their breakup took a shocking turn after Cassie was granted a temporary restraining order against Colton after accusing the ABC star of stalking her, according to paperwork obtained by HollywoodLife.
“[Colton] really isn’t ready to accept it yet and would love nothing more than to get Cassie back. He is gutted that all of this is happening in front of the whole world,” our insider continues. In regards to this new legal drama, our source adds, “He hates that it has gotten to a place where she has filed a restraining order against him as he would love to just have a conversation with her to figure out their differences.”
Colton just can’t seem to move on like Cassie has, according to our source. “As much as he is hurt, he is struggling to see the writing on the wall and that is Cassie seemingly moving on, he doesn’t want to accept it,” our insider adds. “The breakup along with quarantine has not been very good for him.” Before the breakup, Colton had quarantined with Cassie inside her parents’ home in Huntington Beach, CA while recovering from the coronavirus.
While the breakup went south fast, “a lot of people within The Bachelor circle are not shocked at what happened between Cassie and Colton,” a second source, who’s close to production on the ABC show, EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife. The insider explains, “Colton was devastated when Cassie ended things. Cassie had honestly just decided that she wasn’t into him and the relationship anymore and she ended things and it really shocked Colton and he’s had a very rough time with the breakup and has been wounded over it. He never imagined she’d move on with her life so quickly and stop loving him like that.”
Although those close to the former football player expected him to be sad, our second insider reveals that “a lot of [Colton’s] friends have been concerned over his behavior as this isn’t like him at all.” They find it “odd and out of character, but he really got his heartbroken,” the source adds. “He loved Cassie very, very much and thought this was it for him. This is all out of hurt.”
In the new legal documents obtained by HollywoodLife, Cassie claimed that Colton had “admitted” to being the person who put a tracker underneath her car (photos of the device were also provided in the paperwork). Cassie also accused her ex of “watch[ing]” her apartment in Los Angeles, of appearing outside her parents’ home in Orange County (he lives in LA), and of using “alias phone numbers to anonymous send harassing text messages at all hours of the day to [Cassie] and her friends,” including himself. Colton has not yet responded to the allegations after she filed for the restraining order on Sept. 11, and the next hearing for the case is scheduled for Oct. 6.

А как тебе нравятся домашние нарезки участников с их семьями в исходных визитках? Интересно, Холостяк видит эти визитки хотя бы после первой вечеринки, или до? Девочки все такие разные, некоторые дерзкие, я бы сказала. Понравилось, что они знали, кто ГГ заранее. Но не пойму, зачем красной линией постоянно делали акцент на том, что он девственник?

Все зависит от конкретных людей. Думаю, в таких городах как ЛА, NY, СФ т.д., где представлены все народы и расы мира, люди очень нормально относятся к людям разных рас. Их дети учатся в школах с детьми разных рас. Не знаю как обстоят дела в консервативной глубинке, особенно в южных штатах, где было рабство и сегрегация, там может быть несколько иначе.
Уверена, что на Холостяков и Холостячек утверждаются те из участников, которые нормально относятся к людям других рас.
Например, будущуя первая ченокожая Холостячка Рэчел, она была очень успешной юристкой, ее подруги написали о ней в Холостяк, была в сезоне белого Холостяка Ника и была одной из финалисток, она ему очень нравилась, они целовались. Потом она стала Холостячкой и влюбилась в латиноамериканца, вторым ее финалистом был белый, третьим - черный. Рэчел замужем за своим избранником.

Еще одна ченокожая Холостячка обручилась с белым:

Первая американская Холостячка была финалисткой из первого сезона Холостяка, которую он отверг. После этого Холостяков стали выбирать из сезонов Холостячек, а Холостячек из сезонов Холостяков. Заявки в шоу подаются зачастую на определенных участников, которые понравились.
В каждом сезоне акцентируется какая то тема, начиная с рекламы сезона, вот ему сделали такую. В этом совершенно не было необходимости.
Забавно иногда было смотреть как это обыгрывалось в сезоне Бекки, где он был участником.
